10 on tuesday meme: 10 high school memories

I’m a day behind on with my Ten on Tuesday because I was too busy celebrating my mom’s birthday. I found it difficult to narrow down this list. While I wouldn’t want to rewind fifteen years and go back, I guess I do have some really great memories with some great friends.

10 High School Memories
1. Choir. I was and am such the choir geek.
2. High School Musicals. Annie (freshman year), Once Upon a Mattress (sophomore year), Grease (junior year), and Into The Woods (senior year).
3. The Literary Club banquet my senior year.
4. The time Monte Cassidy (who I had a huge crush on for no less than two years) said my name. He was trying to get my attention for someone else. Oh the let-down.
5. Graduation Day
6. Summers at Camp Loucon
7. Church youth group. This could be its own list. Lock-ins. Trips to Lake Junaluska. Many visits to Pizza Hut (“Can ya’ll turn up the jukebox?”). The district youth lock-in at which I ended up with a concussion. Standing around Herron’s car in the church parking lot listening to Def Leppard’s Hysteria record on his “rad” sound system. Lots of fundraising soup and sandwich lunches. Countless rides in the church van.
8. Eating way too much Baskin Robbins Chocolate and Peanut Butter ice cream and Pizza Hut breadsticks with Tiffany at Kereiakes park.
9. My gym teacher being really nice to me after he got a letter from my allergist explaining the severity of my asthma and allergies and that I understood my own limitations when it came to running laps. This was after weeks of him being a jerk to me and even calling my parents (he didn’t belive them either!).
10. School dances. Prom with Warren. Many others with Jason. “Let’s do the time warp again…”.

10 on tuesday meme: 10 things you would do if you were younger

I am finding today’s 10 on Tuesday meme a little difficult. The question is, "10 Things You Would Do if You Were Younger". I’m trying to avoid falling into regret and “I’d go back and change that if I could,” thinking. Instead I hope to focus more on, “if I knew then when I know now….” But really the things I’m coming up with are things I could do NOW. So why don’t I? Do it. Do it. Especially numbers 3, 9, and 10. This makes me think of the Friends episode, *The One Where They All Turn Thirty, and Phoebe shared her list of things she wanted to do before that age. So, here goes....

10 Things You Would Do if You Were Younger
1. *Bounce 1 New York City block on a hoppy ball.
2. Be wiser in my spending/save more money (Right? Everyone’s going to say this.)
3. Learn to play the bag pipes.
4. Read more of the classics.
5. Pick a different major than Music Therapy. Well, maybe. Because I think God was guiding my decisions at the time and there were reasons. And I learned to play the guitar and I met Christy. If I had picked a different major I probably would have gone to WKU and never met her. And had no student loans. But she's worth it.
6. Dye my whole head of hair pink, at least once.
7. Shave my head. See, now Britney has ruined it for the rest of us.
8. Flirt more.
9. Take fencing classes.
10. Learn to speak Japanese.

4. lima/butter beans
5. beets
6. breaded stewed tomatoes (can't stand to even see/smell them)
7. pickled ginger
8. white choclate (in large quanities. if it's accompanying real chocolates that might be okay. but it’s not really chocolate. i am not fooled.)
9. raw yellow/white onion (a small finely minced quantity in something is alright)
10. radishes

If you want to do this on your own blog then *tag* you're it.
