the spelunkers? or the mid-life crises?

Guess what? Bowling Green is getting a minor league baseball team in Spring 2009!! And a new baseball stadium!!! And I’m coming across really excited! And I don’t even like baseball!Okay, it is kind of exciting that we’ll have a professional sports team in our friendly (small) city. The A team, The Columbus Catfish, is coming from Georgia. I am dying to find out what the name of our team will be! That part I am excited about. I would say there is a 67% chance it will have something to do with the Corvette. But I’m really pulling for the Bowling Green Spelunkers.
To celebrate Bowling Green’s new baseball team let’s have a contest!

1) Leave a comment, by clicking on the word "Comments" below, with your suggestion for the name of Bowling Green’s baseball team.
2) Next Wednesday, June 18th, I’ll post everyone’s suggestions and then we’ll take a vote.
3) Whoever wins will get … I don’t know! Something from the new baseball team when they arrive.

Although my husband has already crossed Kentucky off his list of "states I've seen minor league ballgames in" I'll have to convince him to go back to Kentucky. :)

From the renderings the stadium looks like it will be similar to what Sacramento has, which is really nice and a fun place to go to a game.

I'll vote for the Spelunkers - since I know nothing of the area, but know you have good taste.

I am pretty sure the team is just A not AAA, in light of that I think they should be the A team, because of Mr.T.

If it has to do with Corvettes then why not the Stingrays? This has probably been suggested about a billion times. Cheers!

Bowling Green Cave Bats. That is the best I could think of. I bet it will have something to do with caves.

How about the Bowling Green Thoroughbreds? Or the Bowling Green Generals (in honor of GM)? Or the Hilltoppers (in honor of WKU)?

Then there's always the "Cave Crickets"...
