San Diego Day 2: The Specific Ocean

I arrived safely in San Diego last night. I am still waiting for my ears to pop after the flight. Yes, it has been over 24 hours. I'm sure that Christy is really enjoying repeating herself. "Huh? Waddya say?" It's getting late (it's 1:30 in Nashville) and I'm pruned from the jacuzzi (and spoiled) and sleeeeeepy. So there is a back run down of today.

First, it's beautiful here. There is a gorgeous view from Christy's yard (and lemon, lime, orange, and grapefruit trees IN her yard!) and there are mountains & hills. The air is crisp.

Christy & I went to a "War Stories" lunch at the office of the missions organization that she works for. I met her dear friend, Franny, who I have heard to much about.

We went to La Jolla and I saw the seals (lookie. no touchie.) I saw and felt the Pacific Ocean (and a surprise wave got my pants all wet) and collected sea shells by the seashore. Christy and I discovered something we have named "Sea Donuts with Shell Sprinkles".

Went to not one but TWO yarn stores. Bought the yarn to make what I will be calling my California Calpotis. Knitting La Jolla had a good selection of yarn. Black Sheep yarn store in old Encinitas is big & roomy & the ladies there were so nice & asked about my Booga Bag.

I saw Carlsbad and Christy's high school, middle school, the house she grew up in, and the sidewalk where she once bit it when the chain fell off her bike.

We watched Top Model tonight and my love/hate relationship with Jade continues. Mollie Sue is a favorite of mine & I love the Mia Farrow/Rosemary's Baby hairstyle that Tyra wanted on the Beauty Queen last Cycle.

Tomorrow...San Diego Zoo and the famous Pandas.

Please pray that my my ears and sinuses equalize soon because Christy didn't seem to go for the idea of drilling a small hole in my sinuses to allow the pressure to escape. So I may just have to do it myself.
