Christina Juanita Richard Edge, DDS

I am traveling tomorrow. That means I need a good knitting project for all the waiting around you do when you fly. I think I have decided to knit a pair of socks for Christy with the yarn my mom gave me for Valentine's Day. Christy and I were roommates at the University of Evansville and have remained very close friends. After college Christy went to Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, KY (near Lexington) and remained in that area after she earned a Master’s in World Missions and Evangelism. I suppose we became spoiled by being a few hours drive from each other.

About a year ago Christy moved back to San Diego, CA where she grew up. She now lives in Ramona but she actually grew up in Carlsbad. I am so excited!!! I've not seen Christy since a short visit last Labor Day weekend. Remember that feeling you’d get on a Friday afternoon when you were going to take the bus home from school with your friend to spend the night at their house and you’d think of all the fun things you had planned to do that night like calling the boy you had a crush on (okay, I never did that) or eating a bag of Lay's sour cream & onion potato chips and drinking Dr. Pepper from glass bottles while you watched Fame or The Dukes of Hazzard and you planned to stay up all night but you'd never make it past 1:30? That’s the kind of excitement I'm feeling. I am jealous of myself for going on this trip. Did I mention that this is a birthday present from Christy (yes, my birthday is in October. It took us a while to plan the trip).
I get to see Christy.
I am going on a week’s vacation.
I have never been to California.
I have never seen the Pacific Ocean.
I have never seen the area where one of my best friends grew up.
I will acheive one of my New Year's resolutions. Christy is going to teach me to play chess.
I’m going to see the pandas at the San Diego Zoo.
We may find a LYS.
We plan to go Joshua Tree National Park.
We plan to have one of the burgers on GQ’s The 20 Hamburgers You Must Eat Before You Die list.
I get to see Christy.

After nearly 14 years of friendship we can say just a few words to each other and break out in hysterical laughter (or hives). Look at all these rumahs (I WILL SING IT FIRST!). Chicks and ducks and geese better scurry. Amy Rodeherbike. Goden Budda. I need a bucket. VIVA LA URAGAUY!!! Why yes, it’s Darrius. That guy with OCD who walked straight lines around campus. Meat and wool. And finally, Debbie Petire.

Maybe those socks won't be done by the end of my visit.

In case I don't get the chance to post while I'm gone HAVE A WONDERFUL WEEK FRIENDS!

Ah, Jennifer. It is good to see that there are still constants in this world. You have not changed (in a good way). Nice staccato sentences. A wonderful poetical tribute to your trip to Cali and your friend Christy. I finally found your correct blog (since you killed your my friends) hope things are well drop me a post or email. Enjoy Cali!
