I totally planned to have a Super Bowl of knitting yesterday. Sadly, around the time that Super Bowl XL was starting I felt the need for a nap that can only be likened to the Earth’s gravitational pull. I really tired to stay awake for the commercials (I’m from Kentucky...a college basketball state...I don’t know football). However, they weren’t even keeping me awake. By the second quarter I was out like Ted Kennedy after a bender. I did awake right before the half time show. Next year I hope that that NFL will hire my dad and his twin brother (who turn 62 this Saturday) to do a song and dance rendition of
Tea for Two with the canes they each walk with. I guarantee that one of them would fall. But, they’re use to it. Neither would run the risk of breaking a hip; something I feared each time Mick Jagger jutted his boney joints from side to side. The National Anthem was a big let down. Horatio Sanz’s impression of Aaron Nevil is not so off and I half expected Mr. Nevil to break into an ode to cocoa butter during the Star Spangled Banner. Even Aretha was just okay if not disappointing. That opening Dr. Suess rip-off with Harrison Ford...I’m still not sure what to make of it. Which reminds me...is anyone else utterly shocked that he and Ally McBeal are still together?
