3x Thursday Meme

Telephone Habits

1. Do you spend much time on the phone? Why/why not? Who do you talk to normally when you do talk on the phone?
I’ve come to realize that I’m not much of a phone person. When I was a teenager I spent the prerequisite amount of time on the phone. My friend, Jason Moody, and I would talk on the phone until we were about to fall asleep. When the theme song for the WBKO 10:00 news began he’d call. But I rarely feel like talking on the phone longer than 5-10 minutes any more. The people that I'll have the longest phone conversations with are usually my mom and dad and BFF BeLinda and sometimes TC Eric.

2. Are you the type of person who has to answer the phone when it rings, or are you able just to let it ring if you don't feel like answering it? Do you at least have voicemail if you don't answer the phone?
I totally utilize caller ID and voice mail. And now my friends will be wondering if I don’t want to talk to them when they call and get my voicemail. Don’t take it personally. Sometimes I’m just not in the mood. Sometimes I’m in the bathroom. Sometimes I’m too tangled up in yarn and don’t have a free hand. I’m certainly not tethered to my phone.

3. Cell phones are more and more replacing land lines. What is your primary phone? If you have a land line and you don't really use it, why do you have it?
My home phone is my cell phone.

Bonus Question for Comments: What about after-hours phone calls? What happens if the phone rings at 3am? Do you ignore it, or do you answer it? Why/Why not?
If someone called me at 3am I’m usually going to answer it because I’ll worry that it’s an emergency. Nobody ever calls me at 3 am.
