i am sick. and i vote.

Tuesday night...
Last November I was sick with bronchitis over one of my favorite holidays-Thanksgiving. Now I seem to have the same junk going on during one of my favorite times of the year-The Month of May. And I leave Thursday morning (as in tomorrow) for Indianapolis. It started last Friday with a cough and has gone from there. But very little could keep me away from the Indy 500. If Al Unser Sr. can drive in an Indy 500 with the full out flu the least I can do is sit in the stands with a backpack full of Kleenex, a jar of Vick’s Salve, and a variety of various flavored Halls cough drops.

As I’m writing this I’ve been watching the finale of Dancing With the Stars. Helio got his plug in for the Indy 500. Way to go Helio. By-the-way, Julianne Hough is scheduled to sing the National Anthem at the race Sunday.
It been said about various states (or in my case, commonwealth)-but it’s kind of exciting to have the late May Kentucky primary getting some national attention. I voted today on one of the new fancy tech-ed out voting machines. Even while sick. Ladies and Gentleman, don’t try this at home.
Wednesday morning...
Amazingly, I am feeling a little better today. I woke-up around 3:50 a.m. in a sweat trying to figure out who moved my dresser. I couldn't really figure why waking up with my head near my dresser and bookcase wasn't right. Then I realized I was laying catty corner at the foot of my bed without a blanket or sheet upon me. I had this crazy ringing in my left ear and thought either the Holy Spirit was healing me or I was dying. I almost woke-up my parents to tell them I was dying. Or that I needed to be thrown into the shower because I had accidentally overdosed on Mucinex and Hall’s. But then I got a little more alert, used the bathroom, got back in bed, covered up, and went back to sleep. I awoke this morning not coughing nearly as much. I am so grateful that I am able to telecommute. In my pajamas. Something I've actually never done before (The pajamas part. Not the working from home.). And my new navy Converse Chucks arrived in the mail today. New shoes. Things are looking up.
