I know I am basically a goofy girl who is often overcome with fits of laughter and who is always looking for the humor in just about anything. This might lead you to believe that I would be a big fan of the comedy genre. But I am not. I really don’t trust comedies. I often assume I have seen all the funny parts in the trailer. And, often times, I am have. I also have issues with comedies, be it a movie or a sit-com, based on lies or misunderstandings. They make me anxious. And I would say about 75% of comedies contain humor that is based on a lie or misunderstanding. Anger Management - hated it. Meet the Parents - Cousin Eric told me to not even bother. I also don’t care much for gross-out humor. Something About Mary – there was a 119 minute waste of my time. Kingpin – Oh Bill Murray, what were you thinking? All of this to say, I will pick a drama or thriller/suspense film over a comedy most of the time. And I generally reserve my comedy viewing to DVD or television. However, there are exceptions. Like the romantic comedy (though oft formulaic), the occasional Will Ferrell movie, Wes Anderson & Woody Allen projects. And my gross-out guilty pleasure, The Sweetest Thing. So, when I took all of these exemptions into consideration I actually couldn’t come up with a list of ten movies. I had to go with 12.
In no particular order…
1) The Jerk
2) When Harry Met Sally
3) National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation
4) Annie Hall
5) Rushmore
6) Young Frankenstein
7) Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy
8) Ferris Bueller’s Day Off
9) 28 Days
10) Keeping The Faith
11) You’ve Got Mail
12) The Royal Tennenbaum’s

Great list. I have to admit I was a little perplexed as to why you put a zombie movie on your list. (I looked it up and discovered there is a difference between 28 Days and 28 Days Later)
Great list. I have not seen Anchorman.
I completely agree with you about "Meet the Parents." I find many of Ben Stiller's movies painful :-)
I forgot about Anchorman. But I do have "Elf" on my list...and my need to see Will Ferrell movies!
Do my eyes dismay me??? "Dumb and Dumber" isn't listed as an all time great comedy?
Its #1 on my list.
I'm disappointed. Truly.
I chose When Harry Met Sally too.
John David - Did you read what I wrote prior to the list? No. No Dumb & Dumber. No.
Ahhh, #12! I forgot #12. (And not just because I only did 10...) Good list!
A couple of yours are on my list too!
I played too :)
