happy(cough)thanks(cough)giving

Last week it started with a cough.
That's unusual.
It got worse.
I may have even had a bit of an asthma attack.
Okay, so I did.
At work.
At my desk.
I went to my allergist’s office.
I have bronchitis.
I am on Prednisone.
I have not been out of the house since I rolled in late Wednesday night after a very worthwhile Feist show at The Ryman.
Yes, I went to a concert with bronchitis.
But it was Feist.
And it was 3rd row.
And it was The Ryman.
I stayed at home, in bed, Thanksgiving Day.
I was sad.
Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday (along with Easter).
I finished assembling the dog bed.
Derby hasn’t really taken to the dog bed yet. It might be too cushy.
I plan to embroidered a big brown “D” later.

I’ve gotten high on the fumes of the humidifier.
I have done a lot of laying in bed.
And feeling restless.
But not really feeling like doing anything.
Not even holding a book.
I’ve watched two movies I could watch over and over - A lot Like Love (almost twice) and Cold Mountain.
I watched the first 30 minutes of Hannah and Her Sisters.
I’ve watched episodes of America’s Next Top Model that I’ve already seen for the 2nd and 3rd time ...
I’ve watched marathons of I Love New York and America’s Most Smartest Model.I started knitting a dishcloth.
The same pattern I’ve knit over and over.
I messed it up.
I fixed it.
I’ve smelled of Vick’s salve and Hall's cough drops. (Did you know they make ginger ale flavored ones now?)
Today …
my mom fixed me my own Thanksgiving for Sunday dinner.
She’s a loving and good mommy.

I'm sorry you've been sick! It's always worse when it's a holiday. Derby's bed turned out really cute!

I am so sorry you were sick. It must have been horrible to watch reruns of I Love New York. : ) Derby's bed is great, and he is so handsome! Laura

I Love New York - Yeah. I'm actually kind of rooting for Tailor Made. I don't know why. I just want him to prove all the other guys wrong.
