cataloging scarves

Tonight I grabbed my dad's scarf from the coat rack as I was taking Derby outside. And I realized that there are several of my finished knit objects that I don't have pictures of because I didn't have a camera when I first began knitting several years ago. No time like the present! The scarf above and below was knit for my dad's birthday the year that I began knitting. It was probably the second or third thing I ever knit. It's in garter stitch in two shades of Rowan Cork, which I believe has been discontinued. LOVE that yarn. It's almost squishy. Like cork. I'm guessing that's why it's called Cork. This scarf (below) is my first knitted work. It's also a Rowan yarn, Big Wool in Zing, and in all garter stitch. I purchased the yarn at the same place I took my first knitting class, Angel Hair Yarn in Green Hills (Nashville). I took the class with my friends, Becky and LYLASarah. A piece of the yarns they used for their scarves is incorporated into the fringe. As I look at this picture I realize this scarf has stretched and could probably use some freshening. I love this scarf and still wear it with pride, despite the uneven tension and my poorly woven in ends.

When are you going to knit my socks?

I promise you're on the list. I keep starting socks and not getting very far. But now I'm committed to doing it. So you're coming up. Really. Really you are.
