If my mom wanted my brother or me to do something when we were growing up and we chose to park it in front of the TV she would undoubtedly refer to the television as “That Idiot Box”. This post is going to make it sound like I do nothing but watch The Idiot Box (but you all know that I knit, too). It just so happens that Wednesday has become my “must see” night thanks to America’s Next Top Model, Lost, and American Idol (Elimination Show). Plus, this week CBS has moved The Amazing Race to Wednesdays. My VCR (the loudest VCR in the universe) was getting quite the work out! It was an emotionally traumatic evening with Mollie Sue (ANTM) and Mandissa (AI) and The Nerds (AR) being eliminated. All in one night!
During most every Cycle of Top Model the girl who I pick early on as a favorite ends up being eliminated mid-season (Cycle 3’s Nicole for example). Poor Mollie Sue. I picked her as my favorite...and there she goes...mid-season. I'm sorry Mollie Sue. She was rocking the Mia Farrow hairstyle. But she never seemed to crack her shell in front of the judges. Because they didn't seem to see what the rest of us were seeing. She ended up being in the bottom 2 with Jade who stood there with her arms crossed and attitude all over her face. Like every season there is that one girl that you love to hate. I’m not sure if it’s a simple case of a whacked out self image or if Jade would fall under the Narcissistic Personality Disorder bracket of the DSM-IV. How many times now has she claimed “I need more direction”? No Jade. You need to listen. She loves playing the blame game (you chose my worst one/the light was in my eyes/it was the eye make-up).
JADE: I have class. I’m real. I’m me.
JAY MANUEL: She’s a drag queen.
TYRA: That was kind of drag-ish.
I’m still concerned by the pinched up squinty furrowed brow face that Furonda makes when speaking to the camera. And I don’t understand why she fell down when told to imitate Janice Dickinson while they were visiting The Groundling’s theater. Nevertheless she does surprise me and shows herself to be much brighter than I tend to credit her. Now that Gina is gone (and thank goodness...could you imagine watching her during the commercial shoot?) Jade is looking for that person she thinks is dumber than her. She was trying to work that on Furonda last night until Furonda unloaded an evidently brand new word on her.
Furonda: It’s just a facade.
Jade: A facade???
Furdonda: You put on a facade.
Jade: A facade??
Furonda: Yes, a facade.
Jade: Facade
Furonda: Facade
Oh. Tyra, you know when you pretended to pass out in front of the girls? Yeah, um, that was lame.
Don't call it a comeback I've been here for years I'm rocking my peers
Puttin' suckers in fear

I needed a little break. I decided not to apologize for it, but just DO IT.
So...I just did it. Now I think I am ready for some makeup + beauty product

Thanks! That did cheer me up. You didn't mention LOST in your tv night!
I guess I mentioned watching it. But not anything that happened last night. Maybe Libby became obsessed with Hurly in the Loony-Bin and she followed him onto the plane. I do wonder if she just told people she's a psychologist. Because I didn't think she handled some of Hurley's issues like a psychologist.
