My Mommy Valentine

A few weeks ago my mom told me that the Crafty Hands yarn store in Bowling Green was going to be open on a Sunday (a rare occurrence) for a Super Bowl sale. I commented that I wish I was going to be visiting that weekend because Crafty Hands has one of the best selections of Lamb’s Prides wooly yarns that The Knitters and I have seen. A few hours before the Super Bowl my dad gave me their Sunday rundown...They went to the 9:30 service at Broadway, had lunch at Peppers, went to the yarn store because they were having a big sale...At that point I interrupted him and said, “Are you suppose to be telling me this? If she did buy me any yarn it’s probably going to be a Valentine’s present. So don't tell me anything else and we'll pretend we didn't talk about it." When I was home last weekend to celebrate Papa John, Jr’s birthday Mom presented me with 2 balls of sock yarn and a ball of fun sparkly yarn (the Lamb’s Pride was not on sale). She said she had no idea what to look for but she told the Crafty Hands employee, “I think she wants to knit socks”. The Crafty Hands lady helped her out and I got some German sock yarn from a company whose website is in German and I can’t navigate it well enough to find a picture. She also gave me some Berrocco Opulent FX yarn. Purdy.

I was so “surprised” by the yarn and Papa John, Jr. wouldn’t make eye contact. Of course Mom reads my blog. The jig is up.
